Sanuki Kokubunji Taiko Preservation Society’s Performance

Formed in 1987, the Sanuki Kokubunji Taiko Preservation Society began as a youth club that was part of the "Town Beautification Project." With the cooperation of Kokubunji Town, it was established as a preservation society in November 1990. The society now actively performs in many local and regional areas.

Their instrument of choice is the taiko, a traditional Japanese percussion instrument used in various Japanese folk arts, including drums beaten with sticks.

Taiko is a traditional Japanese drumming performance deeply rooted in Takamatsu, where its fast-paced and powerful performance unifies the banquet hall. Experience the traditional culture passed down from generation to generation.

The Kokubunji Taiko Preservation Society strives to develop taiko drumming into an artistic endeavor they are proud of, contributing to the development of local culture.
